I have had an interest in computers since first using a BBC Micro in 1985. As I grew I also gained an interest in film making, especially with the film ‘Pulp Fiction’ in 1996. It was around this point that I decided I wanted to develop a career in the film making. I started to learn how to write a screenplay, without much success, but with plenty of enthusiasm to learn more about the process.
After completing my leaving cert in 1996 I decided to do a course in Hotel & Catering but ultimately found that it wasn’t a career I wished to pursue. It was around this time that I decided to do a national diploma course in media production at Ballymoney. In June 2000 I graduated with sixteen distinctions, two merits and a pass. This enabled me to further my education at Lincoln University which I did from 2000-2003. Here I found an interest in New Media and more specifically Graphic and Web Design.
Since leaving University with a 2.2 honours degree in Media Production, I have been involved in numerous short films and in 2006 I helped produce a short psychological thriller called ‘Blackness’ with director Paudie Baggot. I also worked as a continuity supervisor on a number of films. During this time I also began working for Frank the Monkey dot com as a reviewer and have contributed over two hundred reviews and articles. Recently I have taken up web design and contributed a site to The Stoker-Dracula Organisation. I have resided in Dublin for the last five years and hope to one day direct my first feature film with a screenplay I am currently working on. |
